BODYSTEP!

Last week, my friend, Lizzie and I tried out a new class at Five Points called Bodystep!  Going into the class I kind of thought to myself that it was going to be so easy and that I would catch on real fast like I did for Sh’Bam because of all my dance background.  But no, I do not know what it was but some of the moves I could not catch onto, I also was not used to stepping up and down on the steps.  Bodystep was actually a really good workout!  You are constantly moving your legs up and down the step, across the step, and jumping on and off the step.  You just have to be careful not to trip on the step!
Bodystep is a great way to tone your entire body!  In bodystep you can adjust your steps by the type of workout you want to get or what is best for you.  The top step is a full step with rubber on it and underneath you can put however many steps you want, the more steps the higher it is to step up and the harder the workout.  Bodystep is a fun class to take at Five Points.  Bodystep is a good class to take to burn fat and increase your cardio fitness and coordination.  Also, in bodystep you listen to popular music that would get you pumped up to workout.  Bodystep is a class that I am going to try and keep taking so I can get used to the moves and actually get a full workout.  I suggest to anyone that wants to tone their entire body to try a class like bodystep!

Here is a video of what a bodystep workout class would look like..

Running!

Every family has something in common, in my family running is in our genes. There are a lot of runners in my family; I could not imagine my life without running.  This last spring I pulled my groin during track.  I have not run since then, so a couple days ago I thought I would try running on the indoor track at Five Points.  I am not a big fan of indoor tracks because I run long distance and that is just running in circles too many times!  I am also not a fan of tracks in general, I hate that I can only run in a certain lane and I have to run around in circles.  Cross country is my sport and a lot of my family members too.  Running on the indoor track at Five Points is nice, it is air conditioned unlike outside in the heat or freezing cold.  On certain days you are supposed to run or walk one direction and the other days the other direction.  During track my coach always made us run different directions on the track so we would not get hip problems.  My goal is to get in as much shape or even more shape than I would be in cross country by running and taking different classes at Five Points.
I think running is a great way to get fit.  It works all muscles in your body and can relieve stress.  I love going for a long run and afterwards feeling good and awake.  That is my favorite part about running cross country, the feeling I got after I finished a race.  I think everyone out there should at least try running; it can be a little or long jog, a good paced run, a sprint on the track, any kind of run!  Running is one of the easier ways to stay in good shape, and it makes you feel great in the end!
